Olverra

Kitchenware and home pieces, carved by hand by women artisans in Tunisia.

Every piece is shaped from a single piece of olive wood, so no two are the same.

The story

Each bowl, board and spoon begins as one piece of olive wood, and the carver follows the shape and grain of that single piece. The wood decides, and the hand listens.

The pieces are carved by women artisans in Tunisia, in North Africa, where olive trees have been part of daily life for a very long time. The work is slow and done by hand, the old way.

Olive trees grow slowly, often for more than a hundred years. That slow growth is what gives the wood its deep grain, its weight, and its strength. When you hold a piece, the weight is the proof.

Because every piece comes from its own piece of wood, the grain is never repeated. You are not buying one of many. You are buying the only one like it.

Why olive wood
1

Years of slow growth

Olive trees grow slowly over a century or more. The large pieces are carved from very old wood, dense and heavy.

Piece of wood each

Every bowl, board and spoon is shaped from a single piece. The grain is unique, so no two are ever alike.
